How to get a job as an inker? Trace!

A common question an inker will face is 'how do you get a job inking?'. Really this question comes up in every facet of the genre, but let's talk about inking.
This is how my latest job was landed: One of the Inkers of the Round Table emailed me http://timtownsend.deviantart.com/ and asked me if I was interested in a job inking http://alientechnology2mars.deviantart.com/ I believe Tim had been offered the job, but didn't have the time to do it and handed the offer to me. I checked out Mark's work and thought it was fantastic.
My resume tends to speak for itself, but every now and then, the editors need to make sure you really will gel with
